Cultivating Organic Oyster Mushrooms at NatureThrive

At NatureThrive, we take pride in cultivating high-quality oyster mushrooms using organic methods. Our meticulous process ensures that every mushroom is fresh, nutritious, and sustainable. Here’s a glimpse into how we grow our mushrooms:

Step 1: Medium Selection

We use chopped golden paddy straw as the cultivation medium. The process begins with soaking the straw in water mixed with calcium carbonate (CaCO3) for 8 to 12 hours. This step enriches the medium and neutralizes its pH. Once soaked, the straw is thoroughly rinsed and drained before sterilization.

Step 2: Sterilization

To ensure the medium is free from contaminants, we sterilize the paddy straw in an autoclave at 121°C for one hour. After sterilization, the straw is left to cool, allowing the autoclave pressure to return to normal and excess moisture to evaporate.

Step 3: Spawn Selection

We use the first-generation spawn of white oyster mushrooms, ensuring vigorous growth and high yield. The quality of the spawn is critical, and we select only the best for our cultivation.

Step 4: Bed Preparation

In a hygienic environment, we prepare the mushroom beds using the sterilized paddy straw and spawn. This careful preparation creates an optimal environment for the mushrooms to grow.

Step 5: Incubation

The prepared beds are placed in a dark room with controlled conditions for 14-15 days. During this incubation period, the mycelium spreads throughout the medium, laying the foundation for mushroom growth.

Step 6: Transition to Harvest Room

After incubation, the beds are moved to a harvest room with conditions tailored for fruiting. Within 3-4 days, mushroom buds begin to emerge. In just three more days, these buds develop into fully grown, fresh oyster mushrooms.

Step 7: Harvesting and Packaging

Once the mushrooms reach their peak maturity, we harvest them with care to maintain their quality and freshness. Our mushrooms are then packed in sustainable, food-grade boxes suitable for retail shops and home deliveries.
